Skype Volume Settings Problem Solving 1Skype Volume Settings Problem Solving 1 - Correcting The Skype Audio Settings While testing your Skype phone you are asked to record your voice and then your Skype phone will play it back to you (Make sure that you try this about three times to be certain). If for some reason your voice is not played back to you then you might not have the audio settings within your Skype software correctly configured. All you have to do to correct this problem is to open up your skype by clicking on the green and white icon on your desktop toolbar, when the Skype box opens click on >Tools then click on options...
Now select options and a new Skype box will appear...
Now from the menu on the left hand side of this box select >Sound Devices
Now a new tab will open within the box that displays the settings for your Skype Software..."Audio In" box..."Audio Out" box...and "Ringing" box. At the moment these settings are on NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio which is my soundcards name. I need to change these settings because I have a Skype telephone. If I leave these as they are, my phone will play through my computer speakers. So my phone would not be set up correctly. Please note: If I were using a microphone then the settings would be correct. So I now have to change the settings by selecting "USB Audio Device" (this is my USB Skype Phone) within each Sound devices selection box...
Now I have Selected the correct settings for my Audio In, Audio Out and ringing... I can now click on the Save Button. If you now test your Phone everything should be working correctly, if not check whether your phone is connected properly or re-install skype software and Phone software. Installing A Skype Phone
